Perceptual Motor Programme
Whakamaru School’s Junior staff believe that a child’s early school years are the foundations for launching into a lifetime of learning.
We understand that bridging the gap between the playful world of preschool and the disciplined world of the classroom is important. PMP is a way to bridge that gap.
PMP is a movement/language development programme that focusses on motor coordination, cognitive development, self-esteem, and social skills which develops the student’s ability to cope better in a classroom situation.
This development is necessary for success in the early years of school.
When children move they learn.
We run this fun, challenging programme twice a week in Terms 2 and 3 with parent help on Mondays and Fridays from 2:00 to 2:30 p.m.
